JDC Demolition completed the complex demolition of the Filene’s Building in Downtown Crossing. The building, originally constructed in 1905, is on the National Register of Historic Places and areas of the facade must be preserved, making the demolition a logically sensitive operation. Working off hours on the tight urban site, the team coordinates closely with contractor Suffolk Construction to coordinate scheduling, logistics, manpower and safety. Meeting the accelerated schedule was critical to getting the new construction components of work underway for the 675 ft Millennium Tower.
