JDC was contracted to perform the asbestos abatement and complete demolition of 4 housing buildings and the former boiler house as part of the redevelopment of the Orient Heights public housing community in East Boston. JDC was also tasked with the demolition of a 125’ tall smoke stack located adjacent to occupied residences. As part of the complicated asbestos abatement project, over 4,000 tons of contaminated debris was handled in accordance with a Non-Traditional Work Plan approved by the MassDEP.
