100 Federal Street
JDC was hired by Turner Construction and Boston Properties to perform the demolition scope required to facilitate a new addition to the 100 Federal Street Office High Rise. JDC’s major scope of work included removal of the plaza along Congress Street in Boston’s Financial District including removal of all plaza pavers, drainage layer beneath the pavers, planting beds, VOC contaminated planting soils and landscaping, and removal of asphalt driveways. Other scope of work included removal of the curtain wall along Congress Street to allow for the future addition, interior demolition of the basement level which contained a former Bank of America Space and cafeteria, and escalator removal. The challenge to the interior demolition of the Bank of America space included saw-cutting and removal of 3’ thick bank vault walls and the rigging and removal of the former Bank Vault doors.
