Boston Garden Garage
JDC Demolition was contracted by Tishman Construction Corp to perform the complete demolition of an existing 5 story, 275,000 SF pre-cast concrete parking garage located across the street from the TD Bank North Garden. Major scopes of for the project included preparation of demolition plans and non-traditional work plans with the MA DEP, complete demolition of the parking garage, transportation and disposal of over 15,000 tons of bulk asbestos waste, and foundation removals. Challenges to the project include management of traffic in one of the most congested areas of Boston, dust control, protection of surrounding building structures to remain, and working within feet of an active loading dock related to the adjacent and occupied apartment complex.
