Edward Devotion Elementary School
JDC was contracted to perform the demolition scope of work to facilitate the new construction of the Edward Devotion Elementary School for the Town of Brookline, Massachusetts. The existing school was constructed in multiple eras of construction including the original building constructed in the early 1900’s. Prior to demolition activities, JDC successfully removed and disposed all asbestos containing and hazardous building materials within the existing building. The remaining scope of included separation of the historic building to remain, demolition of all 1960’s building additions, and to perform the selective interior demolition of the historic building scheduled to remain. Challenges to this scope consisted of demolition of the existing building while on-going site development activities were taking place.
