JDC was contracted by John Moriarty and Associates to perform the complete demolition of the 50,000 Square foot concrete framed dormitory at Emanuel College for make way for a new residence hall. JDC’s scope of work included removal of building universal wastes, utility termination, abatement of asbestos containing materials, demolition of the existing building, and bulk removal of asbestos containing masonry associated with the foundations. JDC prepared and obtained approval of a non-traditional work plan to enable the bulk loading of asbestos containing materials. Challenges to this project included work in an active Emmanuel College Campus, working adjacent to an active hospital air intakes, and working in the extremely busy Fenway area of Boston.
