Muzi Ford Chevrolet
JDC Demolition was contract by The Bulfinch Companies, a nation wide real estate developer, to demolish the Former Muzi Ford and Chevrolet Dealerships in Needham, Massachusetts to make way for a new Life Sciences Building Complex. The Muzi dealerships were located on Highland Avenue, just west of the Interstate I-95 and were neighbors to the WCVB studio, Channel 5 Boston. The Muzi dealerships had been in business and had been located at this address for over 90 years. JDC’s scope of work included asbestos abatement, hazardous materials remediation of all buildings, SWPP plan preparation, erosion controls, utility terminations, complete demolition of the former Ford Dealership, complete demolition of the Chevrolet Dealership, complete demolition of 5,000 SF car wash building, and underground storage tank remediation. JDC also partnered with the environmental engineer of the site to excavate and remove over 1,500 Tons of petroleum impacted soils. JDC undertook a very aggressive schedule from the client, demolishing and removing over 70,000 SF of building and foundations in a two week time frame.
