Scituate High School
JDC was contracted by Agostini/Bacon Construction to perform the phase structure demolition and selective demolition of the active High School. The scope of work for this project included asbestos abatement within the active school, selective demolition of architectural features and structure within the active school, complete demolition of approximately 30,000 SF of classroom wings, and complete demolition of the power house. Challenges to this project include working in an active school campus, working around live utilities, and coordination with the other building trades throughout the scope of demolition. JDC’s management team prepared and was able to obtain approval of a non-traditional work plan with the MADEP for the ability to “bulk load” asbestos impacted masonry associated with the exterior walls of the building that were scheduled for total demolition.
