 JDC was contracted to perform the Phase 2 Demolition at thee 225 Wyman Street Office Park for Gilbane Building Company and the owner, Hobbs Brook Management.  JDC’s scope of work included the complete demolition of 100,000 SF 4 -story reinforced concrete office building, complete demolition of a 40,000 square foot employee parking structure, and the selective demolition of an adjacent mechanical room.  The selective demolition scope included removal of chillers, removal of chilled water piping, concrete saw-cutting for new exterior openings in the building façade, and rigging of rooftop units.  Challenges to the project included the complete demolition of the office building as asbestos containing materials under a MA DEP non-traditional work plan while working adjacent to an active foundation construction process.  JDC was also responsible for the disconnection of all building utilities including water, sewer, drain, private electrical, and chilled/hot water piping.
