JDC Demolition was contracted by Walsh Brothers, Inc. to demolish an obsolete parking garage and clear the site for the construction of a new residence hall for M.I.T. The 180,000 sqft structure was carefully dismantled while preserving active electrical and communication infrastructure located within the basement of the garage. JDC Demolition was responsible for asbestos and PCB abatement, site demolition, utility terminations, and preconstruction surveys. This project also included the removal of a 90 foot long pedestrian bridge over active railroad tracks utilizing a 600 ton crane.
