Washington Village
JDC was contracted with the Lee Kennedy Company and Core Investments to demolish five existing structures to make way for the Washington Village Redevelopment in South Boston, Massachusetts. The demolition scope consisted of the complete demolition of 330,000 SF of former warehouse and storage buildings including associated foundations and a 100’ tall brick smoke stack. JDC’s other scope of work included complete hazardous materials abatement including asbestos, PCBS, regulated wastes, ink disposal, paint disposal and closure of underground storage tanks. Due to the proximity of neighboring residential properties, JDC and Lee Kennedy’s project team worked closely with the community to keep the neighbors informed on the demolition steps throughout the abatement and demolition process.
