Scape Boylston Street
JDC was contracted by Suffolk Construction Company to perform the complete demolition of an entire block of buildings at 1252-1270 Boylston Street in Boston’ s historic Fenway Area. The demolition was to make way for a new 15-story, 533-bed independent student dormitory. JDC’s scope included the following:
* Asbestos abatement of all existing structures.
* Termination/cut and cap of water, sewer, and drain lines to the buildings.
* Secure all permitting for the demolition with the City of Boston.
* Perform the complete demolition of approximately 80,000 SF of an existing retail and mixed use structure.
* Performed the transportation and removal of over 5,000 ton of PCB impacted building materials.
* Performed the bulk removal of asbestos containing roofing materials under a non-traditional work plan approved the MA DEP. JDC was responsible for the preparation, approval, and execution of this plan.
